Senior naturalist will visit our oceanfront camp to give a guest lecture to students on conservation of Oceans
For our Friday afternoon lectures we will welcome speakers from all different areas of academia, industry and the wider community to give our students an enriched experience. Previously we informed you about the visit of University of Victoria visiting as our first guest speaker; they will talk all about University life, different subjects, career paths and more!
For our next guest speaker we are very excited to announce a visit from Rachael Merrett a Senior Naturalist from Vancouver Island. What is a naturalist I hear you say? A naturalist is an expert in natural wildlife, in Rachael's case she is expert in oceans, ocean conservation and also whales! Students will learn from the best as our guest speaker will educate our students on Ocean science, telling them about conservation, both in the wider picture of the challenges our oceans face at the moment including mass plastic pollution. Students will learn a bit our the wildlife of British Columbia before their much anticipated Whale Watching trip with Orca Spirit the following week! We hope you are as excited as we are!
